Translation specialised by field

Document translation in Wavre
entrusted to a specialist in the field

Regulatory dossiers, study protocols, contracts, manufacturing procedures, online shops: the text goes to a linguist writing into their own language, then passes under a second pair of eyes, and keeps your terminology from one project to the next.

Our fields

The files that fill our weeks

The file goes to the linguist who knows the subject. Without that knowledge you get accurate words and approximate meaning.

01

Industry and engineering

Manufacturing procedures, maintenance schedules, safety data sheets, technical specifications. The business parks of Wavre Nord and Nivelles produce them all year round.

02

Transport and logistics

Consignment notes, customs declarations, commission agreements, general conditions of carriage. Along the E411, paperwork travels as much as the pallets do.

03

Pharmaceuticals and life sciences

Regulatory dossiers, clinical trial protocols, informed consent forms, package leaflets, manufacturing procedures. The pharmaceutical and biotech cluster of Walloon Brabant works on texts where approximation costs dearly.

04

Legal and contractual

Shareholder agreements, articles of association, commercial leases, general terms, and the submissions filed in a case together with their annexes.

05

Retail and online sales

Catalogues, product sheets, press releases, multilingual shops. A few kilometres from the language border, Dutch is not a nicety: it is a market.

06

Research and teaching

Papers submitted for publication, conference abstracts, funding applications, course material. Louvain-la-Neuve and its science park supply a steady share of this.

Steady vocabulary

Wording that stops drifting between files

Take any single page and two good translators will deliver much the same thing. The gap opens on the third document, when a process step, a component or a job title starts changing name.

From your first delivery onwards your company therefore has a glossary and a translation memory of its own. A manufacturing procedure written in January, a leaflet revisited in September: the wording holds, and whatever has already been translated does not come back at full rate.

The glossary belongs to you. Should you move elsewhere one day, it moves with you.

Our method

Four house rules

A little time invested at the outset, and rework all but disappears afterwards.

Always into the mother tongue

A translator produces their best text in their own language and nowhere else. Even on a short deadline we do not bend that rule.

Revision by a second linguist

A second linguist goes through the text against the original, segment by segment. After a few hours on a file, nobody spots their own approximations any more.

Translation memory

What you had us translate before becomes the base for the files that follow. The vocabulary stops drifting and the invoice falls project after project.

Immediately usable file

Word, Excel, InDesign, XLIFF, WordPress, Shopify: the file comes back in a state where it can be published, with no reformatting.

How it runs

How a translation job unfolds

One person follows the file, from the request for a quote to delivery.

  1. 01

    Analysis of the file

We look at the real volume, the technical content, the format, the internal repetitions and what your memory already holds. The price comes out of that, never from a rough guess.

  2. 02

    Firm quote within 1 h

You receive a rate per source word, a delivery date, and the tally of passages already translated for you, discount included.

  3. 03

    Translation, then cross-checking

A linguist from your sector writes. A second goes over the whole thing, verifies the figures and aligns the wording with your glossary.

  4. 04

    Delivery and adjustments

The file comes back in the state you entrusted it to us, formatting included. Your comments are incorporated at no extra charge.

Our commitments

What we guarantee on every file

01

The right linguist

A clinical trial protocol and a sales brochure do not go to the same person. We do not mix the two up.

02

Glossary handed over

The lexicon grows from the first file onwards, then it is delivered to you. It is yours to use freely.

03

Repetitions deducted

Whatever you had us translate before comes back at a reduced rate. The line appears on the quote.

04

No public tools

Pasting a document into a free online translator amounts to publishing it. Yours never end up there.

05

Deadline announced, deadline met

If a deadline risks slipping, you hear about it during the translation, not on the morning of delivery.

06

Confidentiality agreement

All our contributors sign one. And if your company has its own, we sign it before the first file moves.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate the price?

The calculation runs on the source word. Three elements make it move: the language pair, the technical difficulty and the deadline. Repetitions are deducted. No file handling fee and no hourly billing: quote and invoice carry the same figure, and indicative ranges are set out on the Pricing page.

Do you work directly inside a website?

Yes. The XLIFF exports from WordPress and Shopify allow translation without breaking the structure, the links or the formatting. Title tags, meta descriptions and alt text are handled like body copy: they are what makes you visible in Dutch and in English.

A term does not suit us. What happens then?

Tell us within fifteen days and the correction costs nothing. The chosen term then joins your glossary, including when it reflects a house usage rather than a mistake.

What pace do you hold on a large volume?

A translator manages around 2 000 words per working day, revision included. Beyond that the team splits the text around a single glossary, after which a final harmonising read evens out the style.

What place do you give to machine translation?

None without your written agreement. On a large volume with limited exposure, post-editing can make sense; we then say so plainly and the choice stays yours.
